About Balsamic Moon

Robyn S. Caylor

MA, LMHC, NCC WA #LH61547262

The heart of my identity and counseling style is the mind-body-spirit-culture connection and decolonizing our lives. I believe that our bodies hold innate wisdom and through connecting with ourselves on all levels, we can learn to rest, integrate, transform, and liberate ourselves from the systems working against us, including our own selves.

As a therapist, I encourage clients to explore their lives up to this point with curiosity and intrigue, as well as self compassion and understanding. Using psychodynamic techniques such as free association, early life exploration, and dream analysis, we can rewrite the narrative of your life to one that is aligned with your highest self and your greatest good. Along with utilizing psychodynamic theory and practices and astrotherapy (karmic astrology), I integrate Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Filipino psychology), ancestral connection, somatic exercises, tarot, and mindfulness practices into my work with clients.

I earned my MA in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University and my BA in cultural and medical anthropology from Western Washington University. My academic and clinical interests lie in making meaning of our past experiences and integrating those meanings into our daily lives. I have worked in various clinical settings, including research at the medical anthropology lab at Western Washington University, community mental health, and a group practice. Outside of the therapy room, Iā€™m also a contributor for various Filipino publications.

It is extremely important that I build a safe space for people with marginalized identities, such as my own, and help them feel empowered in their bodies and health through their identity. My practice is lgbtq+, bipoc, fat positive, HAES aligned, and disability affirming.

The Balsamic Moon

The balsamic dark moon is the waning crescent three nights before the new moon. It is the last phase in the moon cycle. The moon phase symbolizes a time of closure, renewal, and transformation. People born under the balsamic moon are said to be deep thinkers, have strong intuition, and have powerful karmic relationships with the people in their life. I was born under the balsamic moon and see the influence this moon has made in my life with transformation - and with the help of the balsamic moon, we can use these themes to transform our lives to what we desire.
